Trans National Bank Ltd (TNB) is providing commercial banking services to Kenyan market and to international fraternity having investment, business, tourism etc. links with Kenya.
Trans National Bank Ltd. is Kenya’s indigenous private commercial bank. Transnational Finance Company Limited (TNFC) was established in 1984 with branches in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisii. TNFC was a deposit taking institution also providing Hire Purchase and other loans. A year later, on 21st May 1985 Trans National Bank Ltd commenced banking operations in Nairobi and Mombasa. Subsequently all the business in the Finance company was transferred to the bank and by 1996 Transnational Finance Company Limited ceased to exist. TNFC Kisii was however closed. The Bank has since expanded its network with branches in the aforementioned four major towns; an additional branch on Nairobi’s Kirinyaga road; a sub-branch in Kabarak University, Nakuru and a 24-hour banking service at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and a forex bureau at Moi International Airport at Mombasa. In order to achieve the desired growth, the bank has expanded its outreach by opening new branches namely: Kericho, Nandi Hills and EPZ Athi River.
Over the years the bank has developed a wide range of services to suit corporate customers and has also ventured into retail banking serving personal banking consumers. In the mid nineties, the bank responded to global trends in advancement in technology and telecommunication by adopting an integrated online network and SWIFT/Electronic Funds Transfer services. The bank additionally commenced SMS Banking, ATM network, Western Union Money Transfer etc services in year 2004 to further enhance service delivery to its customers. The customers now enjoy Internet banking in keeping abreast with global trends.
The bank has a variety of products and continues to enhance them to fulfill customer expectations.
Consequently, the bank has achieved exponential growth in deposit account customers who now have an innovative and responsive bank to meet their financial services needs.
